"The Design Experience through food, leisure and sport” at DE PADOVA Showroom in Milan
Tenth episode of "Winter Games Hospitality & Development" series of meetings dedicated to hospitality in view of the 25th WINTER OLYMPICS in Italy
The series of meetings "Winter Games - Hospitality & Development" on the themes of architecture and design in the hospitality sector in view of the Milano Cortina2026 Olympics, conceived and promoted by MC International, reaches its 10th and last episode of the 2021-2022 edition with the talk entitled "The Design Experience through food, leisure and sport" on 20 September at De Padova showroom in Milan.
As always, the round table compared a city architect, an architect with experience in the design of mountain hotels and resorts, and a special guest representing the theme at the center of each meeting, to take a look at the new perspectives and trends in hospitality. on the Milan-Cortina axis and, more generally, in Italy.
The theme discussed this time is "The Design Experience through food, leisure and sport", design as a quality experience on the part of the user among different areas, but we also talked about Experience Design, the evolution of design not only beautiful to look at or to touch, but seen and experienced as a set of disciplines aimed at creating memorable experiences and arousing positive emotions, where the person is at the center.
Protagonists of the talk: Maurizio Lai, scenographer, designer and founder of Maurizio Lai Architects, a Milanese studio developing exclusive design solutions on an international scale according to the principles of Design Excellence, and Gianluca Ghedini of Architettura & Ambiente technical studio in Cortina d'Ampezzo, association of professionals in Architecture, CasaClima and Industrial Construction.
Moderator of the panel, Paolo Barichella, consultant and entrepreneur active in the practical application of Food Design in business, as well as the professional who theorized food design in Italy in 2002, while the special guest of the evening was Alessia Cipolla, architect and sommelier, founder of Archipass Studio in Milan and Treviso specializing in architecture, interior design and projects for the world of taste.
The event, held both in presence (by invitation) and in live streaming, was hosted by the partner De Padova, historical interior design company made in Italy of the Boffi|DePadova brand, in its Milanese space designed by the art director Piero Lissoni, where architecture and interior design meet to give life to an innovative dimension.
The entire Winter Games project, which started in 2021 with the support of the Municipality of Milan and the Municipality of Cortina d'Ampezzo, has meanwhile also obtained the patronage of: Ordine Architetti P.P.C. della Provincia di Milano, Ordine degli Architetti P.P.C. di Belluno, Fondazione Architettura Belluno Dolomiti, POLIdesign, and is created in partnership with Guest Magazine, FIABCI Italia - International Real Estate Federation, AREL | Real estate Ladies Association, and NEWH Milan | The Hospitality Industry Network.
